The boy reaches into his pocket and takes out a handkerchief. Before her eyes, he folds the corners outwards and there in the palm of his hand is the most brilliant ring that she has ever seen. "Oh, how wonderful," she whispers n awe. The boy picks up the ring in the fragile gold band and shows it to her. "For you," he mumbles a bit shyly, but determined. "I can see all the colors of the rainbow in it," she says. "A promise that your heart will never be overwhelmed by grief," he says smiling at her, grabbing her hand and sliding the ring, made from his golden lock of hair and his last tear, on her index finger. "Well, are you ready for the final hurdle?" He says boldly. "If you hold my hand?" She says with one slight fear audible in her voice. "Forever".
